We were chosen by Kyan's birthmother to be his parents. |

|

|
We met Kyan's wonderful birthfamily at the adoption agency. Kyan kicked Momma's hand when she touched his birthmothers belly. |

| July 24, 2005 |
|
|
|
|
Kyan's birth grandmother calls us to say his birthmother is in labor! We arrive at the hospital at 8:30pm. |

| July 25, 2005 |
|
|
|
|
After 22 hours in labor, Kyan is born at 12:09pm- on his due date! Kyan was perfectly healthy and we bonded instantly. |

| July 28, 2005 |
|

|
We leave the hospital as a family of three. We stayed at Mike & Linda's house for the next few weeks until the adoption paperwork was finished. Grandmother & Grandma B come visit Kyan for the 1st time. |

We drove to Illinois so Kyan could meet the rest of his family. Great Aunt B and Aunt M threw Kyan his 6th baby shower! |

We celebrated Kyan's birthday early with friends and family in Illinois. We had a cookout at Grandma B's. Then we went to the 4th of July parade. |

Kyan's 1st birthday! We spent the morning at swimming lessons with Jamie & Maddie. We had a party at home with friends in the evening. |

Kyan has tubes placed his his ears for recurrent ear infections. The surgery lasted 5 minutes and was successful. |

We celebrated New Year's Eve with Jamie, Lance & Maddie. Momma, Daddy and Kyan fell asleep before midnight! |

Momma & Kyan flew to Illinois to visit family.
We went to Nashville for Daddy's job interview and were able to visit with friends and Kyan's birthfamily. |

Daddy accepts an offer for new job in Tennessee.
Grandmother, Grandpa, Jacob & Jerry come to Alabama to visit. |

We moved to Tennessee for Daddy's new job. |

|
Kyan unexpectedly died in his sleep during his afternoon nap. Despite all efforts he could not be revived. The cause of his death is still unknown. |

Kyan's Memorial Service held at Woodfin Chapel. |

|
Kyan's autopsy is finally completed after 4 months of testing. The medical examiner used every test possible and could not determine Kyan's cause of death. |
